After a breathtaking adventure – from programme development to certification – Airbus handed over the no. 1 A350 XWB jetliner to global launch customer Qatar Airways yesterday. This historic moment was marked with a ceremony event at Airbus’ delivery centre in Toulouse, France. Following years of dedicated work from Airbus, the first customer A350 XWB aircraft is now preparing to open a new chapter in commercial aviation – incorporating the latest aircraft technology to set new standards in passenger comfort and efficiency as it flies around the world. The A350 XWB’s initial commercial flight will take place on 15 January, connecting Qatar Airway’s Hamad International Airport hub in Doha, Qatar to Frankfort, Germany.
